We read every message that reaches our inbox. A little detail up front helps us give you a useful reply rather than a generic one. Dressitems is an independent guide to dresses, fit, fabrics and styling. We are not a shop, so we can't take orders, process returns or check stock for any retailer. For questions about a purchase, contact the store you bought from directly.

What we're happy to help with

• Questions about our guides: if something in an article is unclear, or you'd like more depth on a topic such as fabric weight or silhouette, let us know.
• Corrections: if you spot an error or something that seems out of date, please tell us which page it's on and what needs fixing. We would rather fix a mistake than leave it in place.
• Topic suggestions: tell us about an occasion, dress code or styling problem you'd like us to cover, and we'll consider it for a future guide.

Making your message easy to answer

If your question is about choosing an outfit, include the type of event, the season, the time of day and any dress code on the invitation. These details change the advice a great deal. A daytime garden ceremony calls for something very different from an evening reception in December.
